Guided Walk at Balranald Nature Reserve

Join local RSPB staff for a guided walk around the Balranald Nature Reserve to find out about the wildlife and conservation work undertaken on the reserve, 10am-12pm. With sweeping sandy beaches, craggy foreshore, wind-sculpted sand dunes and wildflower-rich grassland called machair, Balranald is home to many species of wildlife including corncrakes, lapwings and other waders. Meet at the visitor centre carpark.
Tickets: £3 for RSPB members / £6 for non-members.

RSPB Land of Otters Guided Walk

Duration: 2-3 hours
Distance: up to 2 miles
Terrain: Rough and wet ground along a hillside trail. Stout footwear recommended. Not suitable for those with mobility restrictions.

Eagle Evenings

Come and join at Loch Druidibeg Local Reserve, South Uist Thursday 23rd May from 7-9pm and watch th White-tailed Eagles. They have two chicks in their nest currently. There will be the telescope and trailer set up again this year to watch the action from a distance and see how the chicks get on. This is great opportunity to learn more about White-tailed Eagles from our local RSPB staff.

The Uist Selkies meet at different locations and times throughout the year… yes even in the depths of winter.

Sundays are a tradition though and the group will meet up, usually changing location week to week.

Park Run (Machair Run)

You might have heard of the park run craze across the UK. In Uist Park run takes place on Sunday at 12:30. Starting from the bus stop at Lionacliet, the route takes in the beach and machair- beautiful on a good day and a challenge on a not so good day.
